The Pelican Spider

Why look for alien looking objects in space when we are surrounded by them? This is the Pelican Spider, also known as the assassin spider for very good reasons. It is so incredible, it has its own family of spiders, and is native to Madagascar, south Africa, and parts of Australia. It gets its name from its very long neck and elongated jaws, which snaps out at lightning speed to capture any prey in the area. The highly venomous spider measures only 2 – 8 mm long; if it was any bigger, it might be considered a threat to humans.
